This is my backyard. . . . on May 1st. . . . . I have completely given up on those springlike temps. I figure we're just heading straight for 90 degree weather--if the snow ever stops!

Sun. . . temporarily. . .
Wasn't it great to have a little sun and some warm temps today? We spent the morning at Thanksgiving Point smelling the flowers and watching the fish (watching because I forgot the bread we usually feed to the fish). If only the good weather was going to last more than a day---sounds like there's more snow on the way---and need I remind you it is nearly MAY?!

When Mom's Not Looking. . . .
I sat down today to check my email. Lady and Jace were busy making beds for their stuffed animals and seemed to be fairly entertained, so I thought it was a good time to sneak down to the computer. For about 10 minutes, everything was quiet. Without warning, about half a dozen books came flying down the stairs. Before I made it to the top of the stairs, Lady was on her way down making sure I knew that Jace had thrown the books. As I passed her, I realized she smelled really strongly of perfume. For all kinds of reasons, my five year old does not have perfume, so it was safe to assume I was smelling my own. Coming down the hall, the smell of the perfume was so strong I could already feel a headache coming. I looked into Jace's room. The floor was covered with books, cards, toys, and my perfume bottles. From the look and smell of things, my two darlings had very stealthly dumped out everything in the room and sprayed perfume everywhere. Jace must have heard me coming because he had already put himself in his time-out spot.
As you can see from the pictures, Jace was less than thrilled with my reaction. Laityn tried her best to explain that she had only used the small bottle (the most expensive) and Jace had been naughtiest for using the big bottle, but I'm pretty sure this whole escapade was master minded by our little Lady. I can never complain that I don't have enough to do, Lady and Jace make sure of that.

Church Overload!
This has been one of those crazy weeks of too much church stuff. Sunday was an all day affair--Tim's meetings started at 8:00. I had a presidency meeting with the Bishop at 10:00. Church started at 11:00 and then I had choir at 3:00. Tim finished off the day with a couple of hometeaching appointments. Tuesday night, Young Men's started early. Tim made it home at 5:00 for dinner, and was out the door by 5:15. He came home around 8:00 (full of stickers from the barn where they were all watching movies). After de-stickering his clothes, I left for my primary meeting which ran from 8:30 til midnight. Last night was the pinewood derby, which I was in charge of. That event ran from 4:30 until 9:00 (setting up the track takes FOREVER!). Lucky for me, there are no baptisms on Saturday so hopefully, we can all get a little extra sleep in time (except for Jace and Lady, they NEVER sleep past 6:30-Thank goodness for Saturday morning cartoons!) I keep hoping things will slow down, but I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen anytime soon. I'll just be grateful for the blessings that come with all the craziness.
