Lindsey and I have a standing lunch date every Wednesday at 11:00. The intention is that the kids play while we relax and chat. Somehow, that never seems to happen. I thought you might all get a kick out of some of our most cherished Carl's Jr moments.
1. Ryker and Lady taking booster seats into the play place and riding them down the slide. To our credit, this only happened once. We got some seriously shocked looks as we pulled our children out with their very NOISY seats!
2. Jace screaming wildly and then launching his chicken stars across the table.
3. Lindsey compulsively wiping down all surfaces---highchair, table, Ryker's face/hands, table again--just in case.
4. Danielle climbing into the far corner of the play place to rescue Jace--and then wondering why on earth we even let children in that disgusting place.
5. Two random teen boys climbing up the slide, and then falling back down so loudly that it brought the room to an instant, awkward silence. They tried to exit the restaurant nonchalantly, but the whole crashing down the slide thing kind of ruined that plan.
6. Lady and Ryker using their entire hand for dipping into the fry sauce--apparently they didn't even need the fries.
7. Danielle driving away from Carl's Jr. on a rainy day with her back windshield wiper sitcking straight out trying to wipe raindrops from the air. Meanwhile, Lindsey behind her, laughing hysterically.
8. Ryker sneezing in the entrance to the play place, and having green, slimy stuff hanging from his nose to the floor.
9. Jace constantly whining that Ryker and Lady won't play with him. Mind you, after the "mom had to rescue me incident", Jace refuses to climb up into the play place which is where the rest of the normal children are.
10. Lindsey nearly taking down another mom who was certain that Ryker had made her child cry. She settled for just shooting dirty looks at the mom until we called it a day.
Ahhhhhh! The joys of the A.F. Carl's Jr.!

Thanksgiving Point Farm
Since the weather has temporarily turned BEAUTIFUL!--We took Lady, Jace, Ryker, and Tyler to the farm. Jace was thrilled to dicover that the goats did not bite his finger, and he spent a good amount of time feeding corn to any animal that was remotely interested. Papa did his best helping the kids pet the Clydesdale horses, but Lady just couldn't bring herself to actually come in contact with the horse. Ryker pretty much dodged the cameras all day and poor Tyler was terrified of everything, especially the billy goats! Yep--just another spring day on the farm!

Is there something on my face?
While I was searching for the BYU picture, I ran across this one of Lady. Every time I see it, it makes me laugh--a lot! Laityn figured that if Mr. Potato head's parts could fit into any hole on his body, surely they would fit on her. She taped every body part to her face and proudly came to show off her handiwork. The tape on her lips made conversation pretty tricky, but we all had a good laugh! Kids are so awesome!
Countdown and Cougars

Only 10 days of school left! And since the last day is only an hour and half, I'm only counting 9! I am so over homework, lunch money, book orders, fifth grade girl issues, pick ups and drop offs, take home reading books, library days, and about a hundred other things. There is nothing as great as knowing you don't have to do anything. . . although tennis lessons start June 2nd, math club starts June 4th, piano lessons start for Carter sooner than he wants, and Maddy is still desperate for something (we haven't figured out exactly what that will be. There are a bunch of things she doesn't want to do, but nothing she really wants to do--go figure). All that being said, I am looking forward to a busy, fun, homework free, SUMMER!
. . . this picture is for all you Cougar fans out there. . .
Recently, Laityn spoke a few great words of wisdom. "Hey Mom! Do you know why red is bad?" "No, why?" "Because red stand for Utah Utes and they are bad!" She has been taught well--although today she informed me that "it would be better if pink standed for BYU" because she likes pink better than blue. She will have to take the whole color thing up with Coach Mendenhall.

You Can't Stop the Beat!
Kenzie has been part of the school choir this year. She's had early morning practice (7:30 a.m.) every Wed. & Thurs. for the whole year. Thursday was their Spring Concert (hooray! no more double trips to school before 8:00!), and Kenzie's first solo. She was awesome! Thankfully, my fear of being in front of a crowd hasn't transferred to her.
Laityn--a.k.a. Your Majesty
