my apologies. . .

I think I have never gone so long without something to share....
this is not to say I haven't been busy...
in fact
just the OPPOSITE!
After a most relaxing and fun filled Christmas break
the kiddos returned to school with only
a week and half until end of term...
NEARLY KILLED US ALL!
procrastination on the kids part
and lack of motivation from mom
(cause who wanted to do homework over the holiday?)
resulted in LOADS of homework
and many, many nights of staying up
til midnight or later
...not that I go to bed before midnight ever...
but it's different when you HAVE to be up
editing reports/playing music/etc.
We are now fully into the new term
and the homework is in full swing.
Which leads to the picture below...
Maddy had to do a comfort zone assignment
Basically-- do something out of your comfort zone
and write about your experience.
Maddy is much braver than I would ever be...
she had me do this lovely makeup job
and spent the day getting strange looks...
strange comments...
and trying to convince her friends she did this on purpose
because she liked how it looks!

She is so much gutsier than me!
I have also fully realized these past few weeks
that our date nights are slowly evolving...
we spend most of our weekend nights
dropping kids here, picking up others there,
running them for ice cream,
searching for the next multi-stake dance,
bringing them here or there for movies,
making cookies/treats for them to eat,
and in between...
taking ourselves to dinner while we
wait for the next pickup time.
Don't get me wrong...
We LOVE it!
Kenzie has a wonderful group of friends
and it is the most fun getting to know them!
Thankfully, Maddy's insanely large group of friends
is still young enough they only get together
once in a while...
when those 20+ deacons
and 15 or so beehives
all come to hang... the basement seems a little small.
Moving on....hopefully I'll be taking a few more pictures
and doing a better job of keeping this little blog
cheery, happy, and full of our lives!

the end of the world

Well...
I'm here...
at my computer...
very much alive...
so the whole
"world is gonna end theory"
kind blown right out of the water.
Times are a changing...
and these kiddos are growing right up.
This year our traditional New Year's Eve
was turned into the new and better
New Year's Eve EVE!
Since the 14 year old NEEDED to party
with her own friendlies,
we celebrated a night early...
How nice are we?

You should know...
Jodi & I challenged Kenzie & Zack
to a best of three foosball tournament
and we moms KILLED it!

apparently, drinking sparkling cider
was really stressful for this boy

I truly have no words for these expressions...
blackmail picture....I think YES!
2012 is gonna be an adventure for sure :)

holiday LOVE!

if you know me AT ALL
then you know about my
not-so-secret Christmas OBSESSION!
I LOVE everything about this time of year...
but the very BESTEST part
is Christmas Eve...
the food (everything from pizza to lasagne..
depending on the year and our mood)...
the program (singing/piano/storytelling)...
the nativity (even our 17 year old still plays along)...
the 300+ pictures that make up our
year-in-review slide show...
the jammies (cause everyone needs new pjs)...
the gifts...
lighting a candle to remember the Savior...
dropping into bed at 2 a.m.
and being awakened by Lady at 3 a.m....
EVERY BIT OF THE WHOLE NIGHT is
MAGICAL & FULL OF WONDERFUL!

what nativity reenactment would be complete
without bathrobes and tinsel...

the baker's dozen...getting WAY too grown up!

baby Nash...we just can't get enough
of this little guy

even the doll got matching pj's
for the special night

NINJA JACE

La-la-loopsy dolls....

Harry Potter is good in any form...
book form, dvd form, and even
Lego PS3 form

the girls finally got those
desperately needed i-touch's

SURPRISE!
Tim got me an ipad....
I had absolutely NO idea...
Once I got over the sticker shock,
I realized just how much I LOVE this surprise!

BIG TRAAAAAAAK!
if you haven't seen "kid history 7"
get on youtube and watch it...
then this will make sense!

Ultimate Perplexus

Smiles all around for every one!

Christmas tunes

silly kiddos...
singing silly Christmas songs....
so very fun!

Who knew there were BYU
Santa hats?

Such a fun tradition at the school...
and so helps with the
getting-in-the-Christmas-Spirit mood!
Gotta say...
I'm looking forward to every minute
of the next two weeks...
especially the no homework minutes!

those days...

Remember the days when you talked for hours
on the phone with your best friend?
You talked about homework...
You talked about the weekend....
You talked about that boy....
You talked about the new plan for Friday night...
You talked about wearing twinner outfits for a day...
You talked about the future....
Really, you talked about EVERYTHING!
So now...
replace "talked" with "texted"
and really, nothing has changed,
except that it's not you anymore,
it's this grown up girl that you just love!

TWINNERS....
totally
absolutely
planned.

right down to the shoes on their feet!

and the Atlantis stone around their necks!
Such beautiful girls :)
