i like to look for rainbows...

This is my day...
my baptism day...

Our sweet little Lady was baptized today.
She looked nervous, happy, excited &
PERFECT!

the dress

the diamond-y headband
Lady picked out for her day

yup...she is beautiful!

see what I mean about the nervous part...
you can see it in her smile.

cousins & friends
who came to share
her special day...

our all-too-grown-up family

It's strange to think I'll never buy another
little white dress...
I kinda hoped she would stay little for a while longer,
but she was ready for today.
Tonight she wrote this in her new journal:
I got baptisd to day. I felt the Holy Gost
when I went ander the water.
When I came out of the water
I felt so happy. Now I am a true
member of the Church.
Now that I am baptisd I took a big step
to live wiht Hevenley Father
and he loves me.
Now I feel so good.

Awwwh...love my Ladybug.

ships that fly

the SPACE DERBY
...this was a new thing for us
making a ship-
powering it with rubber bands-
putting it on a string-
winding said ship's propeller 100 turns-
(in case you wondered...
if the propeller slips and whacks your finger
it HURTS!)
watching ships fly down the track of string-
our performance was average,
much to Carter's dismay,
but still a fun, crazy night
with 30 cub scouts!

you probably won't notice,
but the black/gold paint
with lightening bolts
has been the design for all cub contraptions

this is the "I'll smile, but I wish my ship
had flown farther" look

when we came home,
the sun was setting
and lighting up my favorite tree in the yard...
I planted this tree
because of how it looks right now
I can look out the kitchen window
and see the pink flowers...
almost makes me think it should be Spring!

one egg, two eggs, three eggs, four

It's that time of year already...
coloring eggs,
hunting for candy,
baskets of goodies,
sunshine (well maybe not this year)
celebrating our Savior
by remembering the atonement
and the resurrection.
We spent Saturday
hunting for eggs & candy
in our basement...
hunting for eggs & candy
in Papa's basement...
bbq-ing outside,
then eating inside...little miss Lady...
so excited for her baptism next Saturday!

Maddy...
finally, really, lookin' like she's twelve

mister Jace...
squeezin' in lots of mom & boy time
before he finishes Kindergarten

our Kenzie...
spent the morning helping out with a trail ride
for the kids she works with instead of egg hunting
...such an impressive young lady...

Carter-man...
proudly sporting his road rash
from the previously blogged longboard accident

not-so-patiently-waiting
to begin "the HUNT"

even with the rain,
we managed to sneak in our egg throw...
Ry is lucky he didn't get that egg
in Lady's hand right to the face
when he shot past her seconds before she released!

apparently, you must pull strange faces
and do a little chanting
before actually throwing...

going for the "one throw and the egg is demolished"
so I can get out of the cold!

what!?
there is no way I can throw that far!

WINNER of the kiddos throw!
Brit took home bragging rights for the big person contest
Wonderful weekend for the family...
and with just one week until May 1st,
I'm thinking the sun should finally make an appearance!

little story 'bout a boy and his board

the short version:
2 boys riding longboards...
2 longboards getting dangerously close...
2 longboards crossing tips...
1 boy landing face first...
or maybe glasses first...
on the pavement.
OUCH!

best part of this story:
Carter came running inside,
crying about his bloodied finger/shoulder/knee
all the while assuring me
that his lenses weren't even scratched.
"I think we can just bend back the frames
cause the lenses aren't scratched or anything."

I'm no expert on fixing glasses,
but I think it's safe to assume
there will be more than some bending needed
to fix these shades :)

if you wondered what 6 year olds do
when they've been cooped up inside
for the longest winter ever...
masking tape hopscotch!
complete with pirate weapons & attire

Gotta love those moments
when true creativity comes to light!

checking pockets

Before I explain....
take your best guess...

to explain:
Jace had free access to the
purple tote of craftiness all day
He made tongue depressor stick houses,
yarn thingys,
shiny rock papers,
and apparently...a google eye egg shaker...
that same shaker was carefully stored in his pocket
and after hitting the spin cycle,
the contents exploded.
I was switching the laundry...
little eyes were falling all around.
Who knew you could fit THAT many into one little egg?

I will take the eyes over crayons any day of the week!

sPrinG bReaK

spring break!
It took some fancy words and big plans
to convince the kids they would survive
spring break without Disneyland.
I've been saving all the kids' free this-and-that coupons
and we used them ALL this week.
Monday: free bowling @ Fat Cat's
free kids meals @ Bajio
Tuesday: Nickel City with friends
free kids meals @ Winger's
bringing home above friends
catching up until the late hours of the night
Wednesday: free laser tag @ Boondocks
ice cream at JCW's
Thursday: church history museum
...the only day I remembered the camera...
pizza at The PIE in salt lake
sleepover with the cousins
Friday: beautiful weather today
we played outside, planted carrots/onions,
pulled out the hammock for some swinging,
and it's Lady's first late night...yay for that girl!

learning to quilt

you pull...we push

Nephi's boat...complete with fishing

making magnetic quilts

learning to dance like they do in Mexico

the tortilla toss

the PIE
...or as Jace calls it...
the secret pizza place
of course, it's secret because it's underground

Can't believe tomorrow is Saturday!
Thank goodness we have less than 6 weeks
until SUMMER!
If only someone could convince the weather to
play along with the whole spring thing....
hope ya'll had a good break :)
