goin' on a campin' trip!

It's that time of year again...
time for our annual Argyle camp out
at Payson Lakes.
The forecast for our weekend was rain...
LOTS of rain...
but someone was watching out for us
and we had beautiful weather
right up until the last few hours.
We always try coming up
with a few "projects" to keep the cuzzins busy.
This year, we brought supplies
to make foam swords.
The swords were a HIT
literally!

Kenzie & Ty picking out their foam...
We used pvc pipe for the center,
cut up water noodles for the outside/handles,
then used rolls of duck tape
to hold everything together...
it's true what they say:
duck tape can fix anything!

swords in action!

Jace almost lost his sword fighting privileges
on more than one occasion.
It's just so hard to hit the sword instead of the person!

digging in the dirt NEVER gets old...
these kiddos dug a hole big enough to sit in.

"Run Away! Run Away!"

After the sword fighting,
Tim D entertained the young 'uns
with a treasure hunt.
When he pulled out his authentic pirate map,
I thought the kiddies eyes
might just pop right out of their heads!

Ty is truly in awe of her daddy's treasure hunting skills

Found the treasure and divided up the loot!

Tim made these babies for some
tougher competition...

love the dirt under the noses!

leave it to grandma to bring popsicles...
the kids were in heaven

This picture is deceiving...
it looks like Brody is just walkin' along with the girls.
In reality, this was a rare moment when
he wasn't pulling Kenzie
right off the trail.

Ty lovin' on Brody

poor Ry...
the fishing was awful,
but he sure tried
The sun stayed out most the day Saturday,
so we were able to get the kids in the lake.
cuzzins + water = FUN

the boys, of course, couldn't resist
getting Madison all wet

You can see from the smiles,
there is no better way to spend an afternoon.
The final competition was for the big kiddos.
Tim D set up several targets
and gave each cousin 10 shots
with the pellet gun.

Kenzie was all business,
and she killed the competition with 7 hits!
Who knew she could shoot....accurately!?!

Three days together goes by so very quickly.
I love that we can all get along so well
and truly enjoy just being together as a family.
Can't wait until next year!
Now it's back to reality...
three weeks until school starts...
and so much to do.
Summer has been WAY too short,
and I'm not even a little bit ready
to send them all back.
Gonna have to pack in lots of fun
in these next few weeks!
